Uganda Trip - Lake Mburo & Bunyonyi Safari

TOU\B111 MBURO PARK AND LAKE BUNYONYI (6DAYS/ 5NIGHTS)

DAY 1

In the morning, you will be picked up from your overnight accommodation in Kampala and transferred westward to Lake Mburo Park. Along the way, stop over at the Uganda Equator and the crafts village at Mpambire and shop for a souvenir. Take pictures of the long-horned Ankole cattle before arrival for lunch at Mantana Luxury Tented Camp or Mihingo Lodge. Meal Plan – Breakfast, lunch and dinner. TRANSIT TIME 4 HOURS

DAY 2

Morning game drive in the park. With its unique characteristic of acacia woodland, it is the only national park where you can see the beautiful gigantic eland. Surrounding Lake Mburo are swamps where hide secretive papyrus specialists such as the Sitatunga, antelope and red, black and yellow Papyrus Gonalek. Return to camp for lunch and in the evening, take a boat ride on Lake Mburo for a closer view of the hippos, crocodiles and other wildlife. Return for dinner and overnight at the Mantana Luxury Tented Camp or Mihingo Lodge. Meal Plan – Breakfast, lunch and dinner.

DAY 3

After breakfast, transfer to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale. Spend the afternoon bird-watching in the vicinity of the lodge. The Bunyonyi environs are uniquely endowed with the resident African Harrier Hawk, yellow-backed, spectacled weavers, Levillant, etc. Dinner and overnight at Bunyonyi Safari Resort. The lodge gives you spectacular views of the nearby Muhavura ranges and the romantic lake scenery.

DAY 4

Morning visit to the historical lepers’ asylum which makes up the culture of the local people. After lunch, spend the afternoon cray fishing or take a boat ride on Lake Bunyonyi to visit the neighbouring Batwa tribes. Meals and overnight at the Bunyonyi Safari Resort. Meal Plan – Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

DAY 5

After breakfast, return to Kampala. There will be a picnic lunch en route.
