Uganda Tour - Kibale and Lake Mburo

TOU\B107 KIBALE AND LAKE MBURO PARK SAFARI (5DAYS / 4NIGHTS)

    DAY 1

Depart to Fort Portal via Mubende, passing through verdant countryside and traditional homesteads. Fort Portal rests in the shadow of mountains of the moon. Dinner and overnight at Ndali Lodge or Kanyanchu Bandas. Meal Plan – Dinner.

    DAY 2

After breakfast, we shall move into the Kibale Forest Park, for a half day of primate tracking. Look out for Red-Colobus monkey, Blues, Red-tailed and Grey-cheeked Mangabey swinging through the dense forest or the chimpanzees. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed somewhere in the forest. In the afternoon, visit the Bigodi swamp eco-tourism site for another close-to-nature encounter. Bigodi is not only a bird sanctuary, but also home to rare species like the shy and elusive Sitatunga. Meals and overnight at Ndali Lodge or Kanyankyu Bandas. Meal Plan – Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

    DAY 3

After breakfast, depart for Lake Mburo National Park. Stop over at the Agip Motel or Regency Hotel in Mbarara for lunch, and thereafter, transfer to the park which is an extension of the Tanzanian plains with big herds of zebra, impala, eland and other ungulates. For bird lovers, Lake Mburo is one of the best places to find African Fin Foot and the Papyrus Bush Shrike.  Dinner and overnight at the Mantana Luxury Tented Camp or the Rwonyo Bandas.

    DAY 4

After an early morning breakfast you will have a guided nature walk. Your ranger guide will take you on foot to the bush via the salt lick, tracking the unsuspecting zebras and other species as they lick the salty soil together. Return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon, take a boat ride on Lake Mburo. Meals and overnight at the Mantana Luxury Tented Camp or the Rwonyo Bandas. Meal plan – Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

    DAY 5


After breakfast, transfer to Kampala.
