TOU\B109 MURCHISON FALLS AND KIBALE FOREST PARK SAFARI (7DAYS / 6NIGHTS)
- DAY 1 Murchison Falls
You will be picked up from your overnight accommodation in Kampala and head north-west through the famous Luweero triangle and drive through Masindi town and on to the park via Kichumanyombo gate. Have a picnic lunch at the top of the falls where you will feel the rock literally tremble as the whole river Nile is forced through a 7-metre crevice. Thereafter, proceed to Red Chilli camp or cross by ferry to Paraa Safari Lodge for dinner and overnight. Meal Plan – Lunch and dinner. TRANSIT TIME 4 -5 HRS
- DAY 2
After an early morning breakfast at about 6:30am, start a guided game drive along the Albert track or Queen track north of the river. You may see elephants, Uganda kobs, warthogs, lions, giraffes, buffaloes, Jackson’s hartebeest, leopards, etc. Return for lunch and in the afternoon, head for a launch cruise along the Victoria Nile upstream to the bottom of the falls where it is a paradise of hippos, crocodiles and waterbuck all basking in the sun on the river banks. For bird lovers, you will see African fish eagles, Shoebills, herons, Cormorants, ducks, bee-eaters, and Kingfishers. Return to the Red Chilli Camp or Paraa Lodge for dinner and overnight. Meal Plan – Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
- DAY 3
Early morning, set off for an eco-walk in Budongo Forest. You will be welcomed by the delightful chattering of Black and White Colobus monkeys, Vervet monkey, Olive Baboon, or the chimpanzees. There are several bird species including the Blue-naped Mousebird, Spotted Morning Thrush, Silverbird, Buff-bellied Warbler, Black-headed Batis, Black-headed Gonolek, etc. After a picnic lunch, you may opt for an evening game drive before dinner and overnight at the Red Chilli Camp or Paraa Safari Lodge. Meal Plan – Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
- DAY 4
After breakfast, head south-west to Kibale Forest. Lunch will be had at the Kolping Hotel in Hoima. Thereafter, proceed to the park arriving early in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Mantana Luxury Tented Camp or Kibale UWA Bandas. Meal Plan – Breakfast, lunch and dinner. TRANSIT TIME 6 – 8 HRS
- DAY 5
After an early morning breakfast, briefing by the park ranger guide who will take you chimpanzee tracking. The forest is also endowed with Red-tailed monkeys (endemic to this forest alone), bushbucks, bush pigs, warthogs, duikers and golden cats, among others. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed somewhere in the forest. Return for a refreshing drink, dinner and overnight at Mantana Luxury Tented Camp or Kibale UWA Bandas. Meal Plan – Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
- DAY 6
After an early morning breakfast, it is time for another close-to-nature encounter in Bigodi swamp which is a sanctuary for birds and other wetland dwellers. You will see different species of birds including hornbills, yellow-spotted nicator, hairy-breasted yellow barbets, purple-headed, chestnut-winged starlings, White-headed wood-hoopoe, Black-capped Apalis, Petits Cuckoo-shrike, Dark-backed Yellow-mantled weavers, etc. Meals and overnight at Mantana Luxury Tented Camp or Kibale UWA Bandas. Meal Plan – Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
- DAY 7
After breakfast, return via Mubende to Kampala or Entebbe. TRANSIT TIME 5HRS
