Uganda Gorilla Safari & Wildlife
TOU\B114 QUEEN ELIZABETH AND GORILLAS (6DAYS / 5NIGHTS)
- DAY 1
You will be picked up from your overnight accommodation in Kampala and transferred west, passing via Mpambire drum makers where you will buy some crafts then head to the Uganda Equator for a stopover so you can relax and take pictures. Lunch at the Agip Motel or Regency Hotel in Mbarara, before continuing through the bottom of the East African Rift Valley and arriving in Queen Elizabeth Park for dinner and overnight. Meals and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge or Mweya Institute of Ecology. Meal Plan – Lunch and dinner. TRANSIT TIME 4 – 6 HRS.
- DAY 2
After an early morning breakfast, proceed for a game drive through the Kasenyi area where Kobs have their mating grounds. Here you will have a high chance of seeing cats in action. Head on to the northern crater where you may see elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, baboons and waterbuck, to mention but a few. Return for lunch at the lodge and in the afternoon; take a launch trip along the Kazinga Channel, which is a paradise of birdlife with Grey Heroine, pied kingfishers, fish eagles, Thick-nee, Yellow Pulowed Stork, Bladen Ibis, Grey Headed Kingfisher, Egyptian Geese, Galias, Heroin, Great White Pelican, Red Cormorant and African Jacana. You may see other animals like buffaloes, warthogs, elephants, etc, cooling off. Meals and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge or Mweya Institute of Ecology. Meal Plan – Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
- DAY 3
Chimpanzee tracking in the Kyambura Lodge in the morning escorted by a ranger guide. The 16km-long, 100metre-deep gorge is found in the escarpments of the Western Rift Valley. You may also see black and white colobus monkeys, baboons and other primates. Return for a refreshing drink and lunch at the lodge. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge or Mweya Institute of Ecology Hostel. Meal Plan – Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
- DAY 4
Transfer to the Gorilla Sanctuary of Bwindi arriving in time for lunch at the lodge. In the evening, either relax ahead of tomorrow’s day-long tracking or take a self-guided walk along the Munyanga River, enjoying the beautiful sunset. Meal Plan – Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Meals and overnight at Gorilla Forest Camp or Buhoma Homestead.

- DAY 5
After breakfast, briefing from park ranger guides before starting your gorilla trek through steeply forested and beautiful landscape along several animal trails. The climax of the adventure is the opportunity to view the gentle and endangered mountain gorillas - an exciting and memorable experience. Meals and overnight at Gorilla Forest Camp or Buhoma Homestead. Meal Plan – Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
- DAY 6
After breakfast, return to Kampala. Lunch will be had in Mbarara. TRANSIT TIME 8 -9 HRS.
Includes: Accommodation, meals, park entry fees, ranger guide fees, gorilla permit, launch trip on Kazinga Channel, Kyambura chimp permit, bottled mineral water and private transportation in a 4x4 safari vehicle with an English-speaking driver guide.
