Uganda & Rwanda Gorilla Safari

    DAY 1

Arrival at Entebbe Airport, probably the friendliest in Africa. Transfer to the Windsor Lake Victoria Hotel or Sophie’s Motel for your safari briefing, dinner and overnight. Meal Plan – Bed and breakfast. TRANSIT TIME 5MINS

    DAY 2

After breakfast, set off south-west. Stop over at the Mpambire drum makers, and the Uganda equator where you will relax and take pictures. Continue for lunch at the Agip Motel in Mbarara, and thereafter, proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest through beautiful mountain scenery referred to as the ‘Switzerland of Africa’. Dinner and overnight at Buhoma Homestead or Gorilla Forest Camp. Meal Plan – Breakfast, lunch and dinner. TRANSIT TIME 8-9HRS

    DAY 3


Go gorilla tracking, walking up through steep densely forested hills before finally coming across the gorillas camouflaged in the vegetation. An inspiring moment! After an hour with the gorillas and picnic lunches in the forest, return to your accommodations for dinner and overnight at Buhoma Homestead or Gorilla Forest Camp. Meal Plan – Breakfast, lunch and dinner.



    DAY 4

After breakfast, transfer to the Kisoro border and cross over to Ruhengeri in Rwanda. You may stop over at places of interest including Kanaba Gap to view the dramatic Virunga volcanoes and the beautiful terraced hills. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Nest Hotel. Meal Plan – Breakfast, lunch and dinner.



    DAY 5

After breakfast, transfer to the nearby Parc Nationale des Volcans for your second chance to track the mountain gorillas. American zoologist Dian Fossey spent 20 years here studying gorillas. It may be of interest to visit her grave in the gorilla domain. Return for dinner and overnight at Gorilla Nest Hotel. Meal Plan – Breakfast, lunch and dinner.

    DAY 6


Morning: Visit the genocide memorial and transfer to Kanombe Airport for onward flight connections.
