Gorilla Tracking in Uganda

TOU\B115 GORILLAS AND LAKE BUNYONYI (4DAYS / 3NIGHTS)

    DAY 1

Depart from Kampala early in the morning and travel south-west. Stop over at the Equator, relax and take pictures. Stop for lunch at the Agip Motel in Mbarara and proceed through savannah grasslands, seeing banana plantations and herds of long-horned Ankole cattle. Ascend into the Kigezi highlands known as the Switzerland of Africa with beautiful terraces and mountain scenery, arriving for dinner and overnight at Gorilla Forest Camp or Buhoma Homestead. Meal Plan – Lunch and dinner. TRANSIT TIME 8-9 HRS.

    DAY 2

After an early morning breakfast, and briefing from park ranger guides, start your gorilla trek through steeply forested and beautiful landscape along several animal trails. The climax of the adventure is the opportunity to view the gentle and endangered mountain gorillas which is an exciting and memorable experience. After picnic lunches in the forest and an hour with the gorillas, return to your accommodations for dinner and overnight at Gorilla Forest Camp or Buhoma Homestead. Meal Plan – Breakfast, lunch and dinner.

    DAY 3

After breakfast, transfer to the breathtakingly beautiful and soothing environment of Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale. You will also view the beautiful Mount Muhavura ranges. For bird lovers, Bunyonyi is home to several bird species like the African Harrier Hawk, yellow-backed and spectacled weavers, Levillant cuckoo, etc. In the afternoon, you will take a boat ride and visit the nearby Batwa local tribes. Dinner and overnight at the Bunyonyi Safari Resort. Meal Plan – Breakfast, lunch and dinner.

    DAY 4

After breakfast, return to Kampala. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed en route.

Includes : Accommodation, meals, park entry fees, gorilla permit costing USD500, boat ride on Lake Bunyonyi, bottled mineral water and private 4x4 ground transportation with an English-speaking driver guide.
