Cultural Safaris Uganda
With over 20 tribes, Uganda is a multicultural society that offers a wide range of African experiences, from language and dance (it has been said that here, some dance with the hands, others with the shoulders, some with the legs, others with the head and yet others with the waist) to drama, expression, worship, food and way of life. Each of these is interestingly distinct for each group of people.
When you visit the people, do not rigidly stick to your norms. Get rid of your expectations, because to learn more about local culture, flexibility is crucial. For example, if you are told to remove your shoes before entering certain places, accept that that is simply the way things are done here. Try not to express extreme emotion or surprise or attempt to challenge the daily way of life; culture is a guarded treasure in most of the communities along the cultural trails.
About a third of the country’s population, the Baganda are Uganda’s largest tribe. We will take you to some of Buganda’s protected cultural sites.
If you are interested in the culture of any specific group of people, for example the pygmies of South-west Uganda, the Batoro (over whom the world’s youngest king reigns), the Basoga, etc, do not hesitate to contact us.
