Birding Trip in Uganda

TOU\B122 MUBWINDI – RUHIJA LEISURE BIRDING AND GORILLA TRACKING (4DAYS /3NIGHTS)

DAY 1

You will be picked up from your overnight accommodation in Kampala and transfer southwest. Lunch will be had en route at Agip Motel in Mbarara. Final transfer through beautiful terraced mountain scenery to the gorilla sanctuary of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Meal Plan – Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. TRANSIT TIME 8-9 HRS.

DAY 2

Morning briefing by park ranger guides before beginning the gorilla tracking. After an hour with the gorillas, and picnic lunches in the forest, return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight at Buhoma Homestead or Gorilla Forest Camp. Meal Plan – Breakfast, lunch and dinner.

DAY 3

Morning transfer with picnic lunch to Mubwindi Swamp in Ruhija. The swamp at an elevation of 2,050m/6,725ft hosts astonishing birdlife. Among others you can see the Dwarf Honeyguide, Stripe-breasted Tit, Ruwenzori Apalis and African Hill Babbler, the rare and localized Graurer’s Scrub-warbler and Carruther’s Cisticola, as well as the very difficult to see Fraser’s Eagle-Owl. Return to Buhoma for overnight. Meal Plan- Breakfast, lunch and dinner.

DAY 4

After breakfast, transfer back to Kampala. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed en route. Meal Plan – Breakfast and lunch.
