Hiking Safari To Mount Elgon National Park Uganda

DAY 1: to mbale
Pick up from your overnight accommodation in Kampala or Jinja and transfer to Mbale. Final purchase of fresh fruits and vegetables, before check in at Mbale Resort Hotel or similar for dinner and overnight. Meal Plan – Lunch and Dinner. TRANSIT TIME 5 – 6 HRS

DAY 2: drive to budadili at the gate of mt. elgon national park
Start walking to Sasa River Camp for dinner and overnight. (Sasa trail is the fastest way to the main peak, however the first day is particularly tough with a rugged climb of over 5, 249 feet. The distance is about 5 miles and takes average 7 to 8 hours walk.

DAY 3
: from sasa to mude camp
After breakfast at the camping site, proceed through the forest to Mude Cave Campsite for dinner and overnight. Distance of the day about 2 miles, and a 4 to 5 hour walk.

DAY 4
: mude camp to wagagai
From Mude Camp to Wagagay Peak (14,176 ft). After breakfast walk through the moorland zone up to the main peak, Wagagai, and return to the Mude campsite for dinner and overnight. Distance of the day: 11.1 miles and 8 to 9 hours walk.

DAY 5
: to budadili and mbale
Morning hike to the bottom of the Sipi Falls and after lunch, transfer back to Kampala. Meal Plan – Breakfast and Lunch.
Includes: Accommodation in Mbale and Mountain tents, meals, park entry fees, porters, ranger fees, hike fees, bottled mineral water and private 4x4 ground transportation with an English-speaking driver guide.
Excludes: (Alcoholic) Beverages, tips and expenses of a personal nature.
